This is what we sounded like back then.  Not too shabby!

You’ll need to use your imagination with this one. Underneath the over-simplified loops, bad piano playing, and vocals that should not be me, there is a cool trip-hop jazz tune waiting to be born. I promise. I’ll get real musicians to play the parts when I record it. And of course my partner in crime Corinne will do the singing. This recording was just an exercise in writing some music for her lyrics. Anyway… enjoy.

A few days ago I posted two loops; one was derived from a Billie Holiday piano riff, and the other from a Booker T and the MG’s drum sample. Neither was particularly good. So, I thought maybe I should combine them into one tune. I have not yet convinced my self of the validity of this notion. However, I did try. I feel as though I may be trying to polish a turd. But, maybe not. Maybe this is better than I think. We shall see. LOL

I often record instrumentals that go no further than my computer hard drive. Here is a collection of some of my favorites. These span years.  Most are from 2005-2012. There are many more, but these are the tunes I actually go back and listen to with some frequency. They have little resemblance to each other or to any of my usual tunes. Maybe that’s why I like them so much.  Enjoy!

BTW - these are free to download for now.  The solo albums I posted previously have all been reverted back to “streaming only” on Soundcloud.  However… you can buy them here by clicking on the “My Nusic” button on the right of this page.  ;)

Here is one I started working on tonight. This is another collaboration. Music by me, lyrics by Corinne. I dig it. But much better versions to come (with her singing!).
